   Professional Experience :

  • 2006 – Present, Co-Chairman and Managing Director of NADIM Industries Nadim Industries is a family business that was established in 1978 by Dr. Asaad Nadim and his wife Dr. Nawal el Messiri. Starting out as a small training oriented workshop for the preservation of the craft of traditional woodwork, it grew over the years from the original four artists to employing a team of close to one thousand well trained individuals. Hend joined the family business full time since 1987. After assuming several positions and gaining experience within different departments of NADIM company both administrative and technical from being an apprentice to Project Manager, Hend became managing director of the company since 1999 and later Co-Chaired the company with brother Adham, taking the company into several phases of expansion. Today NADIM produces furniture for residential works, public areas, and hospitality projects and also supplies big distribution chains. NADIM is specialized in traditional arts; contemporary and modern styles, in addition to the restoration of historical monuments and area development. The company's activities include product design and development, manufacture and exports.

  • 1995-1999, As a volunteer undertook the historic and atylistic analysis for the Bayt Al-Suhaymi Documentation, Restoration and Conservation Project funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development as well as assisted in the project management.

  • Board Member of Chamber of Furniture and Wood Working Industry (Federation of Egyptian Industries) since 2007.
  • Board Member of Egyptian Furniture Export Council since 2006.
  • Member of Furniture Sector Steering Committee of Industrial Modernization Center (IMC) since 2006.
  • Member of woodworking and Furniture committee for the Reform of the Technical & Vocational  Education & Training (TVET) .
  • Member of Labor Committee of Federation of Egyptian Industries.
  • Representative of Arab Business Women, in Women’s  Affair Committee  of  the Arab Labor Organization (2008-2010).
  • Member of Egyptian –Russian Business Council.
